Dear Twins Fans,
It’s time to quit your whining about the Yankees and money. I could personally care less if they won or lost, but please get your facts straight before you open that yapper of yours.
A) Start selling out weekday games in June and we can talk. The Twins rank 20th in average attendance over the last 10 years. The Yankees rank 1st.
B) The Yankees actually have a negative operating income because they aren’t scared to spend a penny or two. Did you hear that? Negative means below zero.
C) The Pohlad family (Jim Pohlad is the Twins owner, for you homers who didn’t know) could run circles around the Steinbrenners but chooses not to. For many years Carl was the not only the richest owner in baseball, but one of the richest men in America. Some people invest in their team and just want it more than others, deal with it.
D) George Steinbrenner bought the Yankees for $10 million and turned them into what they are now. That sounds like the "American Dream" to me…are you telling me you’re a terrorist?
E) Hoot and holler all you want about the Twins farm system, but I think anyone with a head on their shoulders would take Alex Rodriguez over Nick Punto.
I hope this opened you eyes to how ridiculous some of your comments seem to people without Twins blinders on.
Sincerely,
Not a Yankees or Twins Fan

Fans - the next closest thing to being on the team
There is an age old debate on whether or not sports fans, either professional or college even both, should be allowed to refer to their favorite team as a part of themselves. We all hear it all of the time, "Oh man WE did awesome last night", "did you see US win?", "OUR defense sucks. The list of these could go on forever. I want to know why is it that people tend to include themselves in with their favorite teams? You don't make ANY of the money that team is making, you definitely don't spend any of the money that team is spending, and my bet is you don't even watch half of the games that team plays. Yet you can sit there and have the audacity to include yourself as a part of the team. I just don't understand where all of this stems? If you are a fan that's fine, be a fan, but do it in a sense that makes sense. You're NOT part of the team, as much as you want to be, you're not. So get over it, refer to the team by there name and that's that. They're your favorite team I get it, but your name is not on their paycheck or their helmets, and usually not their stadium, so layoff and enjoy it like the rest of us. -JW-
